The Departed, Spoiler Within

I find myself lacking the creativity or patience to do a proper write up of The Departed, which I just saw tonight at Tyson’s Corner. An outstanding cast, for sure. I don’t need to list ‘em; if there isn’t anyone you recognize in the movie you shouldn’t be watching movies. Particularly funny was Mark Wahlberg’s initial contributions. In short, I rather enjoyed it.
According to IMDB the tagline is “Lies. Betrayal. Sacrifice. How far will you take it?” It really ought to be changed to “That’s right kid, almost everyone dies.” Seriously. There are a lot of characters that I’d consider primary (i.e. important to the story) and just about all of them die by the end. Mostly by gunshot. Mostly execution style.
Afterwards, a trip to Five Guys for bacon cheeseburger and fries. Excellent.
Still on my list to see is Borat (whose working title is far too long to remember much less pronouncing or spelling “Kazakhstan”) and The Prestige.
