This Evening on Television

I enjoy television commericals, especially the clever ones. Lots of ‘em are better than most television shows these days. The good ones make you laugh in thirty seconds or less. Thumbs up for Captain Morgan Rum, where a guy ducks out on his lady to hang with his boys. She calls him on it and the barflies emulate him channel surfing. Clever editing that’s reminiscent of the “whazzap” commercials.
Some of the dumber ideas recently would include renting a Cadillac from Enterpise to attend your high school reunion. Maybe your classmates will be too drunk to notice the “E” logo on the back as you rode off into the sunset with the ladies. Also on the poo list is buying a portable DVD player from Ace, perhaps while you pickup a few gallons of paint or a new step ladder. Why must all brick and mortars stores insist upon venturing into cheap electronics?
Speaking of television, here’s another stellar idea just when you thought reality TV was the solution to writer’s block. Write and film an episode of Monk, then air it in black and white and call it an event. Brilliant! Better yet, air it immediately following in color and have everyone vote on your favorite. Imagine the savings for the network; two hours of television for the price of one! Think the cast gets paid twice for the same performance?
