Poo Poo to Valentine’s Day

I dislike today.
Partially because the snow plow (which didn’t bother coming by until early afternoon) piled up a foot worth of ice in front of my driveway (which I had taken great efforts to clear mere hours ago) which I had to re-clear before I could get my car in the driveway. Partially because it’s a Hallmark holiday; another of the conspiracy holidays between Hallmark and the government to increase sales.
In addition the day generally has the effect of reminding single people that they are indeed single. I think that’s just mean. They don’t have a married people’s day, do they? I didn’t buy cards or flowers or chocolates for anyone, although I did wish a “Happy Valentine’s Day” to all of the single (and some not so single) women who happened to be in the office today.
A large power outage had the server offline most of the day, but when the power came back on and the mail started flowing again I discovered that my sister had sent me the most hiliarious e-card that I’ve seen in a while. Despite all of the crap today, it made me smile. Just make sure you follow her instructions and turn your speakers down a notch.
