Gunfire Erupts in the Old Neighborhood
Mar 29th, 2007 by Alex
Local Severna Park schools were put on lockdown for an hour yesterday while County police tracked down the suspect of a morning bank robbery. After a foot chase the bank robber decided to get into it with the County police, popping off a few rounds. Smart. A half dozen cops in pursuit, he continued shooting once cornered. Real smart. He managed to hit one of the officers in the thigh. You could guess how it went from there. The media didn’t report how many times the suspect was shot; suffice to say he didn’t live to tell about it. His body was left under a white sheet for three hours in someone’s driveway while the police investigated and onlookers gathered. Lovely thought there, some guy coagulating there on your driveway while the police won’t let you in your own house.
This of course was was summarized from Baltimore Sun, the Annapolis Capital and the Washington Post, so who knows if all the details are correct. Other media outlets have probably picked it up by now. I’d ask some of the students that I work with for their version, but they were locked in the school at the time.
