Proudly Blocked By Websense

I hear from good authority that my site is blocked by AACPS. That amuses me. I also hear from good authority that there are proxy/anonymizer sites that aren’t blocked by AACPS that render my site readable. That amuses me more. Hooray for smart kids who know how to bypass stupid Websense filters. I’m not sure how the guy who informed me will respond to my reference to him as a good authority.
What else is blocked over there? MySpace? Xanga? YouTube? The Internal Revenue Service? Inquiring minds want to know. Okay, one particular inquiring mind. I’m also curious about how some of my URLs are categorized. WebSense offers a site lookup tool, but not without registering. F that. If anyone has an account and doesn’t mind looking me up, that’d be great.
At work I find that I bump into the “hacking tools” Websense policy restriction whenever I’m troubleshooting network problems. Go figure that a network guy would need tools that can manipulate or decode network traffic. That and most webmail (which can be used for troubleshooting as well), but that’s a whole ‘nother gripe. Aside from the phishing, spyware and virus-laden policies, Websense tends to irritate me in general.
I could ask my wife to check your site. She refuses to access mine at work.
ACW: So if your wife agrees to check mine from work, does that mean it’s being improperly blocked by the County? or just that she doesn’t think your content appropriate for the workplace? or both?
She KNOWS my content isn’t appropriate for work.
