Oh How I Miss Thou Weggies

According to the Democrat & Chronicle, applications have been filed with Howard County to build a Wegmans in Columbia. It’s about bloody time the Rochester-based grocery store brought their fresh produce closer than Baltimore or Virginia. From the first time I stepped into the produce section of Wegmans while at college I was hooked; the freshness and quality of produce down here just doesn’t compare. Expect this family-owned grocery chain to give Weis, Giant, Safeway and the others big ones a run for their money. Assuming everything gets approved, the only remaining problem is that I’ll have to wait two more years before I can actually shop there (and even longer for the stores planned for Anne Arundel and Prince George’s county).
