They Aren’t Really Arabs, But Who Could Tell?

To make my blog stick out, I decided to submit a face to Blogtimore. I do enjoy free things, you know. Then it occured to me that I had no suitable images; the only images I had came with the theme. So being the geek that I am I whipped out my (literally) dusty copy of Photoshop 6 from my college days and attempted to bastardize one or two images.

To the left we have the dice. This is what was packaged with the theme. Now I do like to play craps — as evidenced by the craps table in my living room for a year or two — but that’s about the extent of the similarity.
To the right we have the the results of my labor, the middle one being for the site and the one on the right being for Blogtimore (due to dimension constraints). I went through several witty, sarcastic, fun, and completely politically incorrect phrases that I had in mind but decided against them in the end. I settled for a shortened version of the blog’s name. I think the image by itself will do nicely, even though its no more telling about the blog or me than the original.
I think that’s why I like it so much, it fits with the whole the concept of MSG. It supposedly improves things, but really adds nothing of substance.
