I’ll Have a Little Bit of Coffee With My Sugar and Cream
Jun 12th, 2007 by Alex
According to my friends I don’t drink coffee. Some of them drink black coffee. I don’t do black coffee and black coffee is apparently the only type of coffee that people who drink coffee consider to be coffee. Some of the others drink decaf. I don’t understand why you would do that, especially if you aren’t going to drink it black. If not for the caffeine, it clearly isn’t for the taste if you’re dousing it with sugar and cream.
I put the equivalent of a half dozen lumps of sugar in the cup. I add enough creamer to make it a chocolate brown, perhaps a light chocolate. I give it a taste and then add more sugar. I’ve never had a cup of coffee prepared for me that I didn’t have to mess with.
I’m a cheap date when it comes to coffee. I can’t taste the difference between the coffee from 7-11 and the coffee from Starbucks. There’s no way in hell you’ll convince me that a $4 cup tastes any better, at least while I’m paying for the research myself.
I feel like I just had a mini-Seinfeld moment, there.
This article made me laugh because you drink your coffee way too “coffee-like” for me… My ideal “coffee” is a tall glass of half and half with closer to a full dozen sugars and one shot of espresso… mmmmm …like candy! The only real difference is that despite that I can taste the difference between a weak/bad coffee and a strong/good one, though price is not an automatic determinate. Love your blog, just came across it recently!
