Wedding at Gramercy Mansion
Jul 9th, 2007 by Alex
One of my best friends got married Saturday at Gramercy Mansion. The ceremony occured on the main staircase and was simple yet elegant. My official duties as a groomsman weren’t so lengthy that I didn’t have time to chat with people, so that was nice. I’d say there were about 150 guests in all, most of them family.
While I’m not usually a big fan of bed and breakfast places, Gramercy is amazing. The grounds were well kept and there’s a lot of space for guests to spread out. The cocktail hour occured outside and the dinner took place on the terrace. All of the banquet rooms were large and open, excellent for mingling and dancing. We got to swim in the pool before and after the wedding. The water was a tad cold but felt great after being in a suit all night long. The wedding party took up all eleven rooms, so there was no one else to bother except perhaps the owner who lives in a different house on the property. After most of the guests left we had a blast roaming from room to room, talking on the lawn, and making one hell of a ruckus.
Gramercy is worth checking out if you’re planning a ceremony in the Baltimore area.
