I Was Quoted in a Washington Post Publication
Aug 6th, 2007 by Alex
I was quoted in today’s issue of Express. For those of you outside the DC metro area, Express is a free daily mini-paper published by the Washington Post. It has sudoku, crosswords, and enough news for metro riders to get the general idea of what’s happening in the world in four stops or less. I used to read it all the time when I was working in Arlington.
Aged as the McDonald’s thing was, apparently someone in the editorial department thought my line about McDonald’s employees posing for Playboy was amusing enough to print. I had no idea until a friend of mine tipped me off tonight. I’m amazed that my August 5th article made it into the following day’s newspaper. Having worked a tiny little bit in editing/publishing, that’s some sick turnaround.

Thanks to Second Foundation for the screenshot. My Photoshop skills are dated and rusty. Here’s a link to the August 6th edition of Express (9MB PDF). The quote itself is on page 32.
that’s nifty. you’re almost famous.
Hey, congrats!
They got me a year ago or so when Lance Bass came out of the closet. I was like “WTF is the Express?”
danielle: Almost, although there’s always been this magical feeling about having your name in print. Not quite bad as Steve Martin’s character in The Jerk, but you get the idea.
Snay: Thanks. Seems to be the common reaction for folks who work in Baltimore, where no such paper exists. It’s unfortunate. Express can be found at every Metro station in DC, daily, for free.
