War, Suave with a Disappointing Ending

I saw War last night at Arundel Mills. As usual Jason Statham and company entertain with lots of martial arts and gun play. I don’t know if Hollywood just loves this guy or what, but Jet Li always portrays some badass — yet smooth and sleek — characters. He makes everything look easy. Fans of American muscle cars will get theirs too, but might have a teary eye by the end of it all. We don’t go see these movies for the plot, although there was a plot twist that no one saw coming. The movie moves pretty well until the very end, at which point it just stops.
We couldn’t figure out what Rogue — one of the main protagonists — was driving throughout the movie. It was a flashy silver convertible with butterfly doors. It stumped two auto mechanics and a car nut, so we’re thinking it was a movie custom.
Overall I enjoyed it, but unless you’re a Statham or Li fan, wait for redbox. I can’t wait for Shoot ‘Em Up.
