I saw Shoot ‘Em Up last night.

Wow. More specifically, holycrapthismoviekickedsomeass. Just like you wanted to go race after Gone in 60 Seconds or The Fast and the Furious, you’ll probably want to go to the shooting range after this one. A shame there aren’t any 24 hour ranges around here.

Clive Owen is a riot. Some of it wildly funny, some of it subtle. You’ll never look at carrots the same way again.

The accent that Paul Giamatti takes on in his portrayal of the villain-for-hire is a bit much. Considering that he was always the friend in a lot of movies with John Cusack it was refreshing to see him play a bad guy.

I had heard rumors that five minutes don’t pass in the movie without some sort of gunfight. Well the rumors are true. Yes, the plot is a bit light. Yes, a lot of it isn’t believable. Yes, there are a lot of deaths. No, you don’t have to take it seriously.

If you like action movies, this one is for you. It doesn’t stop or pause. There’s a sex scene. There’s a free fall aerial battle. There’s torture. There’s a lot of guns throughout. It just gets more and more ridiculous and its all the better for it.
