I’ve Been Adopted for Thanksgiving
Nov 21st, 2007 by Alex
Due to circumstances outside of my control, I won’t be able to be with my family this year for Thanksgiving. It’s a really a bummer, especially since both my aunts will be there (one in from Alaska, the other from Canada). They’ll all be hanging out together all day, not too far away but a tad too far for me to be able to join them. Circumstances.
My friends and I were discussing our holiday plans one night and several of them offered up their homes to me when they heard. It was really cool of them and I hadn’t even mentioned it with that response in mind, I was just telling it how it was and what I was/wasn’t doing (just as they were). Until yesterday I had planned to stay around the house and take in some/all of the absurd Law & Order: CI & SVU Thanksgiving Day Marathon on USA, but I was invited to join a good friend’s family affair at his place. Now I’m looking forward to getting a bit dressed up, spending the day with my surrogate family, catching up with some friends later on in the evening, then enjoying my day off.
Glad you were adopted for the day - Thanksgiving and Christmas are the holidays no one should spend alone. Hope you have a great day, and will come back and visit my blog occasionally. Best wishes, Bilbo.
