Easily Amused and Easily Distracted

I came home today, walked in the door and promptly tripped over a pair of shoes. Then I realized that there were six pairs of shoes in the entryway, all mine. It was disturbing, considering that I used to be the guy that had one or two pairs of shoes. Now its six. Scratch that, seven if you include the pair I’m wearing now. A few pairs of them I’d consider specialty, but I’m still not quite sure how it happened. Seven seems like an awful large number of shoes for a guy to have. The scary part is that there’s probably a few more pairs tucked in the coat closet, and that is something that I don’t want to think about.
Still reeling from all of this, I waltzed out of the house for the evening leaving the ground beef (that I had just cooked) sitting on the counter. Thankfully my amazing roommate noticed, covered it up and stuck it in the fridge. Dinner’s being cooked all day tomorrow while I’m at work, but that could have screwed things up royally.
I’m on a roll, here.
I easily have ten pairs of shoes. The key to rationalizing that much footwear is that they are all for a different purpose. Dress shoes, sneakers, casual non-sneakers, sandals, biking, etc.
