Party City Customer Service Makes Good
Dec 2nd, 2007 by Alex
To Party City’s credit, their management decided to accommodate my request. My web form email was returned in short order, much to my surprise. After swapping a few emails with the District Manager for Maryland/Virginia, I was told that I’ve be able to return the pimp hat. I asked about the reasoning behind their restrictive return policy. She said that it was written the way it way to prevent Halloween costumes from being worn and returned, but that new items in original packaging and it saleable condition should have been returnable without question.
I took care of it on Saturday afternoon. I could have done it earlier, but I’ve just been too busy. The register girl had to call the manager when I explained that “no, I don’t want to exchange it.” I guess all returns have to be approved by a manager.

I’m pretty sure it was the same manager whose attitude was so crummy last time. She was bright and smiling as she approached the register this time, but grew noticeably colder when she saw the item. I’m thinking she might have had a talking to. Nevertheless she returned the item and credited my account without a word.
Hooray for responsive customer service!
Hello, I am so glad to find your information in regards to your last year experience with Party city. Unfortunately, I also encountered the same scenario. On October 25 2008, I bought an angel wing that cost 14.00 dollars at a Party city store in Bayside, Queens NY. On the second day, Target store throw a sale on all halloween costumes and a much better angel wing on sale for 10.00. I went back to Party city to return the item only to find out that they do not want to accept the item for it is a halloween item. There was a red stamped ink on the receipt that stated “all halloween sales are final” even at the bottom part states that seasonal items may be returned within seven days prior to the holiday. I felt that i was cheated by this store and that they are violating the consumer rights. May you please give me the information on how to contact the Party city management. The store manager refuses to provide any information on how and where to submit a complain. Thank you in advance.
Nelson: There was a contact form on the Party City web site. I just filled it out and was contacted by the District Sales Manager.
