What a Week
Feb 3rd, 2008 by Alex
A lot of little things got scheduled over the past few weeks and all ended up transpiring in the past couple days. This past week was very busy as a result. In addition to my day job I…
- worked for four different clients in three different states, much of it by phone
- did one day and two nights worth of crew, where I think everything is coming together nicely
- went to dinner in Fell’s Point with a pretty groovy foursome, the picture from which
– that I need to get from C’s Blackberry –will be framed shortly - went to a Mardi Gras themed party in the same area
- enjoyed a trip to Whole Foods and Lowes, where I mostly did window shopping
- did a quiet but nice Wednesday night thing in the Park
- scheduled several more dinners and parties to occur over the next few weeks, all of which I’m looking forward to
- saw Fools & Horses at Nottingham’s, where craziness ensued
- watched the Super Bowl this evening, where a lot of the ads were disappointing
Normally I’d be drained, but I have this sense of accomplishment. I got a lot done. I had a good deal of fun. And the weekend has been excellent. There are things to look forward to as well. I catch myself smiling a lot.
My goal this week is to take care of my income taxes. I’ve got the preliminary federal complete in TaxACT, just need to tally my business mileage and substitute in some actual numbers for expenses instead of the placeholders I stuck in. Not getting too much back this year, which is good… means I had more of my money in my pocket throughout the year than being held interest-free by the government.
I’d like to hit the gym Tuesday and Thursday.
I do have a side work deadline approaching which I’ll have to burn through one night this week to complete, but I’m looking forward to a nice evening out Friday followed by some relaxation time on Saturday before some evening plans. Sometimes I just crave a quiet weekend spent curled up on the movie watching movies. I find it necessary to plan such time in order to keep it free.
Looking forward to it.
I’m sure Nottingham’s was good, but that means you didn’t get to experience the fun of The Sometimes Favorites. The first band of the three at Iota Saturday night was… horrid. But The Sometimes Favorites and F&H were spectacular. I brought a passel of friends to see them there in Arlington, and I think every last one walked away from the show singing “Selfish”!
Shit. Sending now. Sorry.
I had a busy week too. Daytripped to Pittsburgh on business. Saw two one-man shows over the weekend. Ate out way too much. It’s good to be busy.
