Cocktail Parties are Cool

I went to a cocktail party at friend’s house on Saturday night. Aside from work-related events, it was my first. The house parties I attend are usually a bastion of comfortable apparel, but it was really neat seeing everyone all dressed up. The gentlemen in suits and ties and the ladies in little (mostly) black dresses, it was a nice change from the norm. Comments were made that it felt like we had just gone to the prom, but I thought it felt rather civilized and adult.
I’d do it again, for sure.
