How the hell didn’t I hear about this salmonella in the tomatoes debacle? I must not be paying attention to CNN when I’m at the gym or maybe it was first announced on that one day when I missed the gym. Missed, like I was looking the other way and it snuck past me. Skipped is more like it.
Why is it the first time I hear about it moments after I polished off 3 slices of pizza at a work meeting? Someone at the table just nonchalantly jokes about the salmonella-soaked tomatoes on the veggie pizza, never mind that the other 4 pieces had tomato sauce all over there. We’re talking days after it was national news and here I am contently obliviously chowing down. Thanks for your concern, coworkers!
In fairness they were eating it too, but I’m glad I’m still feeling okay.
