Chick-fil-A Rocks McDonald’s
Jun 13th, 2008 by Alex
I don’t eat a lot of fast food, but occasionally I get some freebie coupons in the mail. I like to take advantage of these things, just to try things out when they’re free. That way if I’m stuck eating fast food due to travel or at the airport, I’ll know what I should or shouldn’t order (when it isn’t free). Nothing sucks more than dropping $7 on a inedible fast food meal at the airport.
Completely unrelated to the food itself, the cashier at McDonald’s had pink fingernails and matching earrings. Speaking in fluent Spanish to coworkers in a feminine tone then switching to a masculine tone to address customers, I don’t think Hector is 100% sure of himself while at work. It’s a shame when people don’t feel like they can be themselves.
On McDonald’s latest offering in the breakfast department.
free chicken biscuit
chicken good but biscuit dry
don’t forget your drink
In non-haiku format, the deep fried (but not too greasy) chicken was decent and of the Chicken Selects variety. In fact, it was like they’d taken two or three of their chicken strips and fused them together. The size and tasty was comparable, though I’d definitely recommend some sort of sauce or something. The biscuit dries your mouth out as if you were eating drywall flakes.
The Spicy Chicken Sandwich from Chick-fil-A on the other hand, I wholly enjoyed. The chicken was better quality. The breading was thinner and less greasy. I’d pay for it, even if it wasn’t that spicy on its own. Throw a little Texas Pete’s on there and you’ve got a nice little snack. I’m not sure if it’s just the location near me, but Chick-fil-A keeps it really clean. I like it.
I’ve tried both the breakfast biscuit and Southern style sandwich at McDonalds and it is nowhere as good as Chick-Fil-A. The only redeeming feature is that I can get one on Sunday.
You gotta try the little chicken mini’s Chic-Fil-A has for breakfast, if you haven’t already. Those things are amazing.
First DCist and Fatburger,

Jon: I’ve never hit them up for breakfast. I’m more of an eggs and bacon man, myself.
Mike: I’ll definitely be checking out Fatburger when it arrives in Columbia. I’m a big fan of Five Guys but we never lose when it comes to competition.
You do realize that Chik F-il-a is closed on Sundays because the owner is a right wing religious nut and insists that all franchise owners close on Sundays and be married, born again Christians? The owner donates heavily to Focus on the Family to keep Same Sex Partners from receiving equal state benefits, there are mandatory prayer periods at many locations, and their “Happy Meals” contain “Veggie Tale” toys.

Broadsheet, who cares they make a heck of a chicken sandwich and breakfast bagel, if you don’t like it don’t go there, try some Ben and Jerry’s they probably lean a little more toward your preferences.
