A Building in Brooklyn Park
Jan 28th, 2009 by Alex
There’s something about this building that struck me as odd. It sits alongside Maryland Route 2 in Brooklyn Park; the exact location is tagged on Flickr.
I spontaneously decided to make this into a little contest, just now. So I’ve got a $10 gift card to Costco (which I believe you can use without having a membership). I’ll mail it out to a random commenter a week from the posting date.

I would say because the first floor (where we would expect the dentist office to be) has all the windows covered with paper, and the top floors appear to be all unfinished. Additionally it just says the word DENTIST, not who the doctor is.
How about I am old enough to remember when that parcel of land–adjacent to a cemetery–was actually a Roy Rogers? Seems rather appropos that something else that does fixing would need to replace the “Fixin’s Bar.”
Okay, I could go off the first commenter and talk about the bottom windows being covered and assuming that the top seems to be where they are going to do their work. Of course having a dentist who has an upper floor so her patients can stare out the window and see beautiful trees and sky instead of traffic–hence a more peaceful and relaxing environment in which to have you mouth gouged I wasn’t sure this was what you saw. Nonetheless the only things that speak to me are how HUGE the word DENTIST is, are they really going to have just dentists in that building? And also, Brooklyn Tower? I don’t think of square boxy buildings when I think of a tower. Not at all. I think big box.
