Life Can Turn in a Instant
Apr 3rd, 2010 by Alex
I’ve made a decision to alter my path.
It is incredible how life can turn, twist, bounce, reverse, and send you looping around on your way to an unknown destination. One day you’re thinking and progressing a certain way and then the next you’re a changed person.
The catalyst to these changes can be something minute. Something seemingly inconsequential mere moments before. A few words from a random person. A tattered billboard alongside the expressway. A dream that left you thinking. A stolen glance across the bar before catching the Metro home. One song that sounded just so perfect that one time you heard it on the jukebox.
About a month ago I saw something. It was almost like spotting a grain of sand on a beach. Something that most people wouldn’t think twice about, lost in the noise. Fleeting. And for whatever reason, it stuck with me.
About a week later I decided to give it another look, so I devoted some of my attention. After a bit of research and some thought, I made up my mind. It was something worth pursuing.
A few days ago, I acted on my decision. Uncertainty abound, I still feel pretty good about it. I don’t know how it’s going to work out. I feel like I’ve been here a few times in the past year, but under circumstances of a different nature entirely. I know there will be times that it won’t be easy, but I think it’ll be worth the effort and sacrafice. I am not without supporters either; there are a few people out there besides me who are already getting excited.
For the next couple weeks the matter is out of my hands. I’m trying to remain pragmatic.
In this case, the path isn’t a sure thing.
OMG You’re pregnant!
I’m intrigued… I wish you the best of luck pursuing it! I’ll pass on the obvious iPad joke giving today cause you’re more respectable than that
Good Luck Man.
Whatever you may be referring to, I hope it works out.
A new job? A new hobby? A remodeling project? A love interest? A stray puppy? Maybe a new diet?
I think my favorite would be a new attitude. The power of the mind is intriguing.
