I jumped out of this plane last Saturday afternoon.
Include the pilot, the thing seats five. For my run, it was still fairly cramped with just me and my instructor. After a brief taxiing we took off, climbing quickly from the runway at Ridgely Airpark and into the clouds.
It took about ten minutes to get up [...]

After I completed the 2011 Warrior Dash in Maryland, I saw a guy with a head-mounted video camera. As it turns out, he filmed his entire run through the Mechanicsville course. He sped it up a little bit in post, so the video is less than 15 minutes (per YouTube’s rule). No sound, but all [...]

The mud at Budds Creek smells like crap. Literally. It’s nauseating and when you take a dive and end up covered in the stuff from the neck down, the only thing to do is flail your arms and keep running.

Instead we rode over to Uncle Grube’s and Smokey’s Pit Beef BBQ, to see what it was all about.
They had a lunch special, Open Faced Road Beef. A [...]

I found some chicken-scratch notes while cleaning up the living room, some of which date back to November 2009. It seems that I take notice of ways in which smaller cities are inherently different than the bigger ones.
Compton, Illinois: Heartbreakers Gentleman’s Club sits on RT-30 across from a weigh station somewhere between Shabbona and Rockford. [...]

I’ve been eating out a lot lately, both socially with friends and for business meetings. I’ve been cutting down on my portions too, so I tend to nibble on appetizers when they look appealing. Granted, sometimes the appetizer intended for four becomes a meal for one. Some are better than others. Which one will rule?
The [...]
