I have mixed feelings about big chain restaurants. While I certainly patronize my fair share, I try to highlight the little guys, Mom and Pop, and hole in the wall places that frequently go overlooked. But sometimes you’ve got to give credit to a fantastic sandwich.

I’ve been eating out a lot lately, both socially with friends and for business meetings. I’ve been cutting down on my portions too, so I tend to nibble on appetizers when they look appealing. I had a package of seven Philly Gourmet Steaks in the freezer, so I decided to make some open faced steak sandwiches. Enough for dinner and a lunch or two, it’s pretty basic.
